"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler."

So, I'm going to Oslo next week. I'll try to keep up a blog kind of thingy, you can find it here, and in the menu-bar. Don't expect a diary of some sort, as you know I go against the flow and like to do stuff different (or as you don't know, I tend to make stuff up if needed). Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it...

Some insights or thoughts after a week of full-time paper writing in the library:

• Some people really go there every day...
• If you need a journal from 1996, you will most probably find that the library collection starts with 1997...
• Although it is generally accepted that the Germans are the most annoying people in the inner city library, I was actually more annoyed by the French. But maybe that's because I don't understand what they're talking about all the time...
• If you're just video's the whole day, wouldn't it be more comfortable to do that at home?
• There's more fashion on display in the library than you'll find in the average H&M...

What do you wish for this new year?

-Finish study module
-Christmas (including shopping etc)
-Write some term paper thingy
-Pack my stuff
-Move out
-Live in Oslo for 5 months

And then it's summer already. Easy, isn't it? :-)

In my newspaper today I read that 3 people in China were killed in a supermarket. Trampled to death by their fellow customers, all eager to be the first to benefit from the sales that were going on. Wow. Must have been some amazing discounts there, I thought. Well, amazing certainly! Canned cooking oil at 20% discount, picture that! That's surely worth some lives...

To consume or not to consume, that's the question. At least, so it appears to be at present. Especially with Christmas coming up again, peoples' minds are set to 'buy' again, more more more, visually molested by flashy advertisements, brainwashed with an all defying urge to own more stuff.

Sometimes I seriously consider emigrating. The only point is: where to? Let's hope we'll find some nice extraterrestrial species somewhere soon..
